At R. Mitchel, Inc., we take pride in our rich history and commitment to sustainability. Mitchel, Inc. started as a small scrap metal recycling organization in the late 1960s. Our founder, Dennis Brown, had a vision to create a company that not only focused on profit but also prioritized environmental responsibility. With determination and hard work, he built the foundation of our organization, which still stands strong today. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include the collection and organization of various materials, such as scrap metal, copper wire, copper cable, and plastic integrated circuit trays or IC trays. These materials, which would otherwise end up cluttering the environment, are prepared for recycling and purchased by companies that can repurpose them. By doing so, we contribute to the circular economy and reduce the need for virgin resources. One of our proudest achievements is our ISO 14001 certification, which we obtained in 2001. This certification recognizes our commitment to environmental management and sustainability practices. It serves as a testament to our dedication to minimizing our ecological footprint and continuously improving our processes. To date, we have processed over 250 million IC trays, equivalent to more than 27,000 metric tons or 60 million pounds. While this is an impressive milestone, we are aware that there is still work to be done. Thousands of tons of IC trays continue to clutter the environment every year, and we are determined to find solutions to this ongoing issue. In our pursuit of sustainability, we have had the privilege of working with renowned companies such as Mitsubishi and Mercedes Benz. These collaborations have allowed us to showcase our expertise and demonstrate the value of repurposing materials. We are grateful for the trust these companies have placed in us and look forward to future partnerships that will further our mission. As we look ahead, we have plans to expand our international reach and collaborate with sustainability organizations.
